Middle school can be a tough time. You are stuck in the middle; not a little kid in elementary school anymore, but not yet a more mature teenager. It can be hard to balance your friends, your home life, and school work. It is in middle school that many people experience bullying, whether they are a bully, or they are the victims of bullying. Popularity becomes more important to many students. The most important thing to remember is stated in this quote. You can have 100 friends, but if they aren't going to be there for you or support you, then the amount of friends you have doesn't matter. It is better to have 5 close friends that will help you through life and school; friends that you can laugh with, give advice to, and share great memories with. The quality of your friends should be more important than the quantity.
Hemingway is one of my favorite authors. Writing can often be emotional for some people. Many times, you are exploring different aspects of life, challenging your imagination, or reliving moments in your past. I think this quote really sums up the phrase, "pouring your heart out." Writing can expose our deepest, darkest, and most personal moments. For many, this is a way to cope with stress, loss, or confusion. Writing can be a healing process for many people. Think of how many people have diaries, journals, or blogs. These are all examples of people writing their thoughts, concerns, opinions, ideas, or memories. It comes from within them; it is the blood running through their veins.
